The term “cloud computing” originated from the use of a picture of a cloud to indicate use of remote computing and storage resources. This exemplifies the difficulty in patents related to cloud computing regarding detectability and determining “where” this functionality is implemented. Accordingly, a core tenant employed by FIG. 1 when drafting patent applications regarding cloud computing solutions is to not only cover the background operation, but also to cover how data flow may be used to detect this operation while also protecting against single-infringer and territorial issues.
Examples of our experience in cloud computing solutions including the following:
- Data center system management, scalability, and design
- Failover and load balancing within and between data centers
- Encryption and other protections against malicious parties
