FIG. 1 engages in a variety of initiatives to increase awareness of patent law and to promote principles of diversity and inclusion.

Diversity in Technology and IP Law Scholarship and Internship | FIG. 1 and Gonzaga Law have collaborated on an award for a diverse student every year that combines scholarship support from the law school with a stipend from FIG. 1 for a summer internship in patent law. The award was established to create diversity and inclusion-focused opportunities in technology and intellectual property law for students at Gonzaga Law by providing these students with a unique blend of tuition assistance and practical, real-world experience through partners committed to improving efforts in diversity and inclusion both at the law school and also in the legal community.

Expanding Awareness of the Profession | Attorneys at FIG. 1 host events and go out into the community to deliver presentations to undergraduate and high school students to increase awareness about careers in patent law.
