Chris has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications across a variety of technological fields, such as Unified Communications (including infrastructure design, systems deployment, and user experience), user interfaces and user experience, computing devices and peripherals including AR/VR devices and associated logic, mobile devices including multi-technology connectivity, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning including image recognition and processing, and e-commerce and digital marketing.
Additionally, Chris has taught Patent Prosecution and Litigation as an adjunct professor at Gonzaga University School of Law (Go Zags!) and is active in patent education within the professional environment to assist clerks and new practitioners at the start of their patent law journey, as well as to help experienced practitioners keep up to date on best practices in a constantly changing patent landscape.
At FIG. 1 we are not only adept at the technical aspects of patent work, but enjoy working with innovators to explore the possibilities of their inventions to ensure that the full value of their innovation is realized and protected. Innovators are often focused on solving specific problems or generating discrete technological advances and thus benefit from an experienced external perspective to realize the full scope of their work. Further, we have established relationships with Examiners at the Patent Office which allow us to achieve quick and efficient resolution of patent filings.
Chris enjoys outdoor activities in the beautiful Northwest and has participated in numerous competitive mountain biking events.
