Anastasia’s practice focuses on patent prosecution with an emphasis on electronic, computer, and software technologies.
Before joining Fig. 1, Anastasia worked as a legal intern at Allen Institute, Paul G. Allen’s research corporation dedicated to answering the biggest questions in bioscience and accelerating research worldwide. She also worked as a patent scientist at Malhotra Law Firm and as a legal extern at the Attorney General Office’s University of Washington Division.
During law school, Anastasia testified before the Washington House of Representatives’ Technology and Economic Development Committee, explaining blockchain and its applications in the public sector and the Internet of Things. Additionally, she co-authored a blockchain report on behalf of the Washington Legislature. Anastasia also presented to legal and business teams at Starbucks Headquarters about smart contracts during an educational lecture on blockchain and cryptocurrency. Since then, Anastasia has continued growing as an educator, teaching lawyers about blockchain and cryptocurrency via CLE programs in 2019 and 2020, lecturing about legal perspectives on blockchain to Masters students of Information Management and Technology at the University of Washington in 2020 (IMT 598), and so forth.
Anastasia is a self-directed learner and has continued her education in computer science by learning computer programming. She was selected to participate in the world’s largest Ethereum hackathon of 2018 (ETHSanFrancisco) and was a fully sponsored hacker at San Francisco’s week-long 2018 Blockchain Epicenter and Crypto Economics Security Conference. In 2019, she deepened her knowledge of computer programming and blockchain technology while participating in more hackathons and conferences, including ETHDenver, CryptoChicks’ World Championship in Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (Toronto, Canada), and Devcon V (Osaka, Japan), the annual conference for Ethereum developers, researchers, thinkers, and makers.
In her free time, Anastasia enjoys playing seriously, rock climbing, and engaging in anything that inspires her continuous growth.
